We would like to take a second to thank everyone who has donated to helping us build our new building for improving the lives of our veterans and community. In the interest of recognizing these great people, below you will find a list of all the people who wanted to be publicly recognized as a supporter of the Northwoods Veteran’s Post.

The Mission

To be the post choice inspiring healthier, more effective veterans that are improving and leading in their Communities.

The Need

Our current VFW Post 1638 building located at 205 North Cleveland was a Grand Republic of the Army building built in 1904. While this building has served us well for many years, it has crippled our ability to serve the growing needs of our veterans.

  • Limited accessibility to veterans with disabilities or special needs.
  • Unable to provide the needed support for aging veterans.
  • Limited seating
  • Limited parking
  • Escalating maintenance & repairs
  • Utility costs
  • 9 essential organizations using a building that cannot accommodate basic
    member requirements.
