Marie Skic 67th President of the Department of Wisconsin Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary
Highlights included the Rehabilitation program recording 73,129 hours and $214,025 on projects; 2 new auxiliaries formed at Camp Douglas 10911 and Liberty Grove 8337. PAC raised $2,290.85; VFW News raised $3,071.70; Hospital showed 1152 volunteers working 50,689 hours and donations of $73,281.17, other hospital community activities in nursing homes etc. showed another 9,242 hours and $10,489.15 spent; Youth Activities reported 188 auxiliaries sponsoring 104 youth groups along with 179 youth projects totaling $55,602.59. The VFW Scholarship was richer by $2,907; The Wisconsin Veterans Museum by $903; and Poppy distribution of 271,797 raised $111,727.77 by 1653 volunteers working 7128 hours. The Cancer grants numbered 195 valued at $60,800.
President Marie visited with sisters from 37 auxiliaries, made 16 hospital visits and had visited 10 Districts along with marching in 4 parades.
You have given your life in service both in the Auxiliary and in your community, you are an example of for all of us to follow
